The golf course is surrounded by huge
hills and lakes with undulating terrain to test the skills
of any golfer. The championship course has 12 hectares of
water hazards in play at 11 of the 18 holes. Whereas the 3rd
& 4th nines beckons a hilly terrain to test the golfers
endurance.
6130 meters and 6047 meters respectively
with 18-holes at Par 72. The 4 nine-holes offer an exciting
combination for the regulars, but first timers usually end
up learning that course management and not long shorts is the
secret to better scares on the course. Although some of the
holes have wide fairways, the many lakes, Streams and hazards
lurk around the course make it necessary to indulge in safe
play with more iron play than wood. The undulating terrain,
with boulders and outcrops, bunkers and water, makes it necessary
for golfers to veer clear these hazards on nearly every hole.
Designed by Tun Ghafar Baba, the fairways
are planted with axonophus compressus grass while the green
are carpeted with serangoon. The championship 18-hole, which
has hosted several international tournaments continues to
be favorite among members and guests. Hole 15 Par-3, one of
the most picturesque holes on the course and one of the most
daunting as well -thus it's nicknamed "Beauty and the
Beast". The hillside tee shot has to carry a lake which
cuts in from the left to make the green, which slopes up away
from the tee. 2 large bunkers to the left and right further
complicate matters.
